TEHRAN-The cultural attaché office of Iran Embassy in Beirut is representing the Iran Book and Literature House at the 65th Beirut Arab International Book Fair, which kicked off on November 23 at the Lebanon capital.
There are over 500 titles from Iranian publishers presented at the Iran pavilion on various subjects of children and teenagers, literature, poetry, art, history, the Sacred Defense, resistance literature, and religion among others, ISNA reported on Saturday.
Held at the Seaside Arena Center in Beirut, the annual book fair is hosting 121 publishers from different countries including Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia.
The book fair features a variety of stands, appealing to every book fan. There is also an educational and fun program scheduled for kids to enjoy. The program includes plays, workshops, storytelling, and other exciting activities.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati said: “This exhibition has survived despite all the incidents. It continues in spite of the wars that Lebanon has experienced in the past years, as the Lebanese are trying to keep Beirut the capital of culture, thought and freedom of expression”.
He considered the 65th edition of the fair to be “the best embodiment of cultural resistance against terrorism represented by the Israeli enemy”.
Organized by the Arab Cultural Club and the Syndicate of Publishers Union, Beirut Arab International Book Fair will conclude on December 3.
